Vasospasm 2017

September 30 - October 3, 2017

The 14th International Conference on Neurovascular Events after Subarachnoid Hemorrhage

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The 14th International Conference on Neurovascular Events after Subarachnoid Hemorrhage or Vasospasm 2017 will be held in beautiful Huntington Beach, Los Angeles from September 30-October 3, 2017.
Sixty-five years ago, an American Neurosurgeon Arthur David Ecker demonstrated vasospasm of cerebral arteries after subarachnoid hemorrhage in angiography, which triggered a half a century long intense research to cure vasospasm. He wrote his thesis based on this topic taking into account everything he could affirm his findings. From the first meeting dedicated to vasospasm, by Robert Smith in 1972, 13 International Conferences have been organized by international leaders of cerebral vasospasm research and much have been learned, from etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment strategy.
In the past twenty years, except vasospasm, other research directions including early brain injury, microcirculation compromise, and cortical spreading depolarization are emerged as new frontiers after subarachnoid hemorrhage. Neuro-ICH, surgical and interventional management of patients, new pathophysiological mechanisms, new animal models and experimental treatment strategies are all under development.
This is a meeting traditionally for neurosurgeons, stroke neurologists, neuro-ICU physicians, vascular biologists, neuroscientists, emergency medicine physicians, and stroke researchers, to get together, and share new development, to present their research. This meeting is the milestone of SAH and vasospasm research in the last sixty years. There will be both Oral and Poster presentations, with four awards presented in each category.
In 2017, we are emphasizing “new ideas, and new research directions” as the meeting logo, and we are expecting to welcome not only veteran SAH and vasospasm researchers, but also new faces and young physicians to target other directions such as early brain injury. In addition, this meeting is an international event, physicians and researchers not only from North America, but also from other continents will participate.
Therefore, on behalf of the organization committee, we would like to thank you for your dedication to SAH/vasospasm research, for your strong efforts in science, and for your continued support of this historical SAH research community.

We look forward to seeing you in Los Angeles in 2017.

Sincerely Yours,
